Crimson Glorys of Sioux City, Iowa

Vice Mum Gert Stevens and FQM Renee Beacom

Yes, there is a fun story behind the "sister" chapter idea.  Queen Karen and Queen Renee are sisters.  When Karen was living in Florida and a member of the Orange Park, Red Hat-titudes, she told her sister living in Sioux City about the fun she was having with the Red Hat Society.  Karen  also told her high school classmate Gertrude Stevens.  The two of them got together, called a few other friends and founded the Crimson Glorys.

Later Karen moved to Virginia and after making a few new friends introduced them to the Red Hat Society and founded the Crimson Glorys Too.

The name was selected in honor of a Tea Rose that is no longer available.

The
Crimson Glorys, now three years old, boast 150 members.  The Crimson Glorys Too which is only one year old has 60 members.   (January 2004)

The Crimson Glorys have held a Tri-State Red Hat Society Gathering each June for the past two years, the first drew 50 ladies from Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.  The second Tri-State in June of 2003 boasted over 200 attendees.  Plans are being set for the June 2004 Gathering which will draw approximately 300 Red Hatters.

They are a fun "lunch bunch" holding monthly luncheons in the Sioux City area.  Each month they salute the birthday ladies by playing their kazoos lead by their "Musicianne".   Door prizes are awarded and whatever other silliness the queen comes up with!   Wow, Just like the Crimson Glorys Too!!!  The sister queens do share and exchange ideas.

In November of 2003 the Crimson Glorys Too held a Shenandoah Regional Red Hat Gala with 100 attendees.   They are now in planning stages for the second annual Shenandoah Gala to be held in November 2004.
